Sevilla, el capital de Andalucía
When we arrived in Sevilla the first thing that caught my eye was the bright river, Guadalquivir. Arabic for "great river", it is one of the longest rivers in Spain. The next sight was the Golden Bull. The Golden Bull was built for the purpose of being a guard. The Golden Bull controlled access to the city and the roof of the tower was made of gold. Another interesting and controversial fact is the remains of Christopher Columbus. His remains can be found in the Cathedral of Seville and not in Santo Domingo. This was proven in 2005 when they did a DNA test. Finally, we went to the Alcázar, a great palace rebuilt for the royals in 1248. Pedro I liked the Arabic, Mudejar style. This was interesting because the king was a Christian. One of the concepts that can be seen is that the king has power on earth and God in heaven.
